What Is Mindful Eating?



We have to eat to stay alive. This is a basic fact of life, but many of us have a complicated relationship to food. In this lesson, we'll learn the basic principles of mindful eating and begin to develop curiosity around the process of eating. We'll do practices to give our full attention to eating, reawakening the senses that may have become numbed by habitual mental patterns around food.

  • Describe mindful eating
  • Identify elements of a healthy relationship to food
  • Practice a basic mindful-eating meditation
